Crain's Detroit Business 2017 Cool Places to WorkDETROIT, Mich. –  August 29, 2017)Oh, the places you’ll go! There is fun to be done! Crain’s points have been tallied and Lambert has won!

Lambert –a top-10 Midwest-based PR firm and a top-15 investor relations firm nationally– is a cool place to work according to Crain’s Detroit Business 2017 list of “Cool Places to Work in Michigan.”  Lambert was the only PR firm to make the statewide list. Managed by Best Companies Group of Harrisburg, Penn., the Cool Places program involved applicants completing an employer questionnaire followed by anonymous employee surveys.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled to receive this award, thanks to our fantastic team and the culture they create,” said Jeff Lambert, founder and CEO, Lambert “More than anything, this honor represents the individuals who work every day with vigor and voom to balance fun with fantastic results for our clients.”

What makes Lambert cool? According to the Crain’s results, Lambert won based on how the company offers its employees wellness activities and challenges; quarterly themed potlucks; the opportunity to play on its indoor basketball court for an annual March Madness H-O-R-S-E competition; attend company outings and holiday parties; play on its giant Scrabble board; or network while competing in cornhole matches or during rooftop deck happy hours. Building off of Lambert’s 2017 Cat In the Hat theme of fun and creativity, Lambert also instituted a company-wide profit sharing program and peer-to-peer recognition program – named after the Cat In the Hat’s Little Cat Z, who brings the VOOM! – aimed at perpetuating the culture from within.

“Since our not-cool beginnings in the basement 18 years ago this week, we’ve come a long way toward building a culture where people enjoy coming to work and doing great things alongside their colleagues,” said Lambert. “We have also shifted from the cliché workplace perks following employee feedback, which includes creating a “Culture Club” committee to bring new ideas constantly, and measuring the impact of culture, tying our investments to retention, profit sharing and return on investment. It’s cool to be fun, and fun to be cool, but being the wordsmiths that we are, we all know that it’s ‘funner’ and ‘cooler’ to be both and successful, all at the same time.”
