Recently, Phoenix became a focal point for the burgeoning field of Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) as it hosted the very first AAM Summit in the state. Arizona, known for its robust technology and defense industries, provided an ideal backdrop for this pioneering event, which brought together key stakeholders, innovators, and enthusiasts from across the nation. The summit was the brainchild of Michelle Olson from Lambert by LLYC and was made possible with the support of several prominent organizations, including the Greater Phoenix Economic Council (GPEC), Honeywell, the Arizona Commerce Authority, and the Arizona Technology Council. This collaborative effort underscores the growing interest and investment in AAM as a transformative sector poised to reshape transportation and logistics.

Highlighting the Summit

Three influential mayors, including Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego, were in attendance. Mayor Gallego participated in a compelling fireside chat with GPEC CEO Chris Camacho, discussing the potential impact of AAM on local economies and infrastructure.

The summit featured 29 speakers from various parts of the country, all eager to share their insights and knowledge with Arizona. Their participation highlighted the national significance of AAM and Arizona’s role in this innovative field.

With 169 attendees, the summit demonstrated significant enthusiasm and support for ongoing conversations about AAM in Arizona. The diverse group of participants included industry leaders, policymakers, and technology experts, all united by a common interest in advancing AAM technologies.

A Platform for Future Growth

The event successfully laid the groundwork for future discussions and developments in AAM within Arizona and beyond. Participants expressed a strong desire for additional conversations and collaborations to further explore the possibilities of AAM, positioning Arizona as a leader in this cutting-edge industry. The summit was not only a gathering of minds but also a testament to the collaborative spirit and proactive approach of Arizona’s community and industry leaders. By facilitating these important discussions, Arizona is paving the way for a future where advanced air mobility solutions become integral to everyday life, contributing to economic growth and sustainability.

As the state continues to host such innovative events, it reinforces its position as a key player in aerospace and defense, ready to embrace the challenges and opportunities presented by emerging technology. The success of the first AAM Summit in Arizona marks the beginning of an exciting journey toward unlocking the full potential of advanced air mobility in the state.
