On July 24, 2014, Detroit will celebrate the 313th anniversary of the city’s founding – notable because of the Motor City’s iconic “313” area code. To celebrate, Lambert is excited to introduce a new photo contest that invites people to share their 313 love for a chance to win a variety of Detroit-themed prizes.
Millions of people have wonderful memories of Detroit from the past 313 years, from Tigers’ games with family and friends to the sonorous joy of Motown music to the first bite of a dog at Lafayette Coney Island. Lambert is inviting people to share those memories by submitting their photos of what the city means to them at www.happy313d.com.
In addition to a grand prize pack (including a Shinola watch), entrants will have the chance to win weekly Detroit-themed prizes from Two James Distillery and the Detroit Opera House.
In addition to the prizes for individual winners, the contest will also be a present to the community. For each photo entered in the contest, Lambert will donate $1 to Arts & Scraps (up to $5,000). Arts & Scraps is an innovative Detroit non-profit organization that annually recycles 28 tons of industrial scraps into affordable learning and creative materials, serving 275,000 children.
Lambert is also working with a variety of local retailers including RUNdetroit to sell commemorative pint glasses emblazoned with a logo marking the city’s 313th birthday. 100% of the profits from the sale of the pint glasses will also be donated to Arts & Scraps.
