Chief Financial Officer
Lance Knapp serves as the Chief Financial Officer of Lambert, joining the firm in 2014 after selling his partnership interest in his accounting firm. Lance has worked with Lambert as their outside C.P.A. and outsourced CFO since the inception of the company in 1998, even meeting with the founders in the original basement office.
Lance’s career spans finance, operations and accounting and includes public accounting and serving in CFO and controller positions within both the public and private sector. He brings a range of experience from manufacturing to distribution to the service sector and has served on the management team and advisory boards for several middle-market companies. Although he is a bean counter at heart, Lance likes to think he spices up the profession with his energy for growth and his sense of humor. Lance possesses skills in leadership, financial analysis, corporate tax planning, management consulting and all things accounting and finance. He also has led transaction and M&A work ranging from valuations to due diligence and integration planning.
Lance received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Spring Arbor University and also played on the varsity tennis team. He belongs to the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Michigan Association of CPAs (MACPA). Lance is a past elder on the board of his church and has served the church in many different capacities including, of course, as their outside CPA and the treasurer of the board.
