Managing Partner, EQUALSIGN
Candice Bowman is a marketer, communicator and catalyst for organizations and brands with more than a decade of experience in advocating, storytelling and strategic growth initiatives. After serving for the past four years as the Director of Outreach and Business Development for Lambert & Co., she now serves as Founding Partner and consultant for EQUALSIGN, an equity & inclusion consultancy focused on diverse board development for public companies and private equity firms, ESG consulting and strategic audience engagement, and marketing and communications to diverse demographics.
While at Lambert she oversaw the firm’s new business efforts with a focus on New York City, key financial markets and her hometown of Detroit. She also led client development and program expansion for Lambert’s national Automotive, Consumer, Education, Healthcare and Investor Relations practices.
Candice’s experience includes nearly a decade of marketing, PR and sales experience. Previously, she managed marketing and communications for the nation’s leading black-owned architecture and design firm, Detroit-based Hamilton Anderson Associates (HAA). While at HAA, Candice helped launch the expansion of the firm’s regional footprint, its market opening in Atlanta, and led revenue-generating partnerships and strategic planning.
Prior to HAA, Candice led marketing and public relations efforts for luxury and lifestyle publication Ambassador Magazine, where she directed brand management, corporate sponsorships, large-scale event production and all digital media implementation. She began her career in marketing and community outreach for the Detroit Lions and the Detroit Tigers.
Candice lives in Detroit’s historic West Village and is a strong and engaged advocate for rebuilding Detroit. She is a mentor for the Women of Tomorrow Mentor and Scholarship program and serves on the board of directors for the Detroit Institute of Arts, Founders Junior Council.
Candice holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Michigan State University.
